Dear 2020 Brides,

It’s not what you expected, it’s not what you had planned. But you have adjusted, adapted, and absolutely amazed us with your resilience. Your vendors cannot possibly imagine how much this year has impacted you...

But we’re here for you. We’re here to make it as close to normal as we can.

Your day will still be magical. Every single wedding I’ve photographed this year has still made me cry the same way from the emotions I feel from first looks to first dances as in previous years.

We know masks, intimate ceremonies, and social distance were not a part of your original dream, but it’s the inclusion of these things that make the events this year that much more special.

This year, it’s all about the marriage. Not just the wedding...and we are so happy to be a part of it.

| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |

What is your most commonly chosen package?

Gold package - 8 hours of coverage

While every wedding is unique, they all have many things in common. The day typically begins with bridal party prep and ends with dancing. Both things I know you want to remember forever! My 8 hour package has been the perfect fit for so many of my brides. Having the photographer there to capture the memories of you getting ready for your big day is something all of my brides have cherished. When the feeling of finally being a bride on the day you have been dreaming of and planning for so long hits you,

I want to be there to capture it.

What advice would you give to brides regarding photography during their day?

DO A GOLDEN HOUR GETAWAY.

I highly highly HIGHLY recommend escaping the scene of your reception once the dancing has started to take an intimate moment to yourself and your new partner for life with your photographer.

I drive the newly-weds to a secluded location no more than 15 minutes from the venue for a quick session when the lighting is the absolute best. This session gives you two a moment to reflect on the beautiful day you have shared together before it has sped completely by. These are the photos my newly weds have cherished the most.

For a photographer, when is the best lighting for an outdoor venue?

Evening hours are best

Photographers can work anytime, anywhere, with any lighting. I have done sessions at noon on the hottest day in the summer, and images are still beautiful. Of course, there are optimal times for the sun's position when it comes to how the light appears in your images. Shooting when the sun is at an angle in the evening is the best. During the summer solstice, this is typically any time after 4:00pm.

Do I have a checklist of photos that I am to get?

Yes!!

Before every wedding, I send my checklist over to my brides to either approve of or add to to make sure you get all of the images you want of your big day.

What are the benefits of doing a first look?

Time.

I get this question often, and every bride has their own preference! From a photographer's standpoint, first looks give a bride and groom an opportunity to spend more of their day together. I have seen so many nerves disappear after the first look is complete, and have also allowed the bridal party to head right on over to the reception since bridal portraits can be finished before the ceremony!

What do I need to bring for my photographer?

The details!!

The finer details photos can only happen if the finer details are present. The most forgotten things on a wedding day are bringing a copy of the wedding invitation, making sure the bride has both rings for pictures before the ceremony, and having fancier hangers for all of the bridesmaids dresses. While the details are small, they make a big impact in your detail photos.
